Who Are You Following?

Few days ago I was speaking to a member at the health club I just started going to. (Never had time when I was having a job.) We started talking about our personal trainers. If you aren't familiar with the word, these are fitness pros who have learned to form work-out routines based on individuals strengths, needs and targets.
Anyway, Rick said something that hit me right in the middle of my eyes. "I got so confused reading all the books and fitness magazines. Each of us has their own idea of what works the best. I after a long time figured if I was going to work out, I possibly as well pick one expert, listen to them and put in action their routine."
afterwards, as I was driving my pained body home, I got to think about how adequate Rick's comment was to internet marketing. Everyone's a professional. (Even people who have yet to sell their first eBook.) And there exist million programs, books, secrets, techniques and systems that will do the job for you.
The only thing is, you can instantly fall into what my favorite business school professor nicknamed, "Analysis Paralysis". That's where a lot of people are stuck. They continue reading, and it gets in the way of actually work on something.

I was guilty of this, too. I must have paid for several hundred dollars worth of books and courses until I realized what did the job for me, with my very own internet business.
Luckily, the professional I decided to follow was, in hindsight, an excellent choice. And by listening to his advice and following his ideas, I have designed a number of successful earnings streams.
My point isn't that my "guru" is the correct choice for everyone. The point is to pick one or maybe a few people you really appreciate, and model them. Certainly, see if they are in fact successful in their own businesses first. But when you encounter with someone you respect and who has style you like, listen to their advice and listen to what they propose in their writings.

Using this method can save a lot of brain cells that you would use switching strategies and tactics. It avoids bewilderment and gives you a good point of reference from which to work.
You can lay out the reading and the searching for the most updated eBooks. Suppose your guru knows the most updated strategies and will recommend you of how well they do their job.
I'm not saying you never look at another eBook or eZine again, it's pretty much that when you have one main star you watch, it's much easier to find your way, working from home.
