The town is aside from being a mountain-spa-town, & legendary for its many warm sulphur springs, also the main frontier for walking holidays in the Pyrenees Mountain.
From this spot you will have access to the ridges of the lesser hills, as well as the high peaks, which takes you towards frozen lakes & rough territory. The most popular areas include: Col de Puymorens, the Col de Pailheres & the Ariege Pyrenees.
The Pyrenees are considerable mountains, and the weather conditions changes fast, so approach them with respect.
