Once the feeding is complete, the material is put back into place. This type of shirt is popular in sleepwear for nursing moms since it requires very little thought and can be done while half asleep.
A majority of breastfeeding tops feature a hidden panel. However, there are several designs in this type. Pull down tops come with an underlying panel that has slits for nursing access. To get to them, you merely pull down the top layer. In some shirts, the top layer is held in place by fasteners at the shoulder.
There are also pull-up tops. The breastfeeding panel is concealed beneath a panel that covers the breast area. In some tops it is a complete layer, but in others the top panel may only be on the front of the shirt.
Crossover styles work in a related manner. Double layers of fabric cris-cross the chest. The top panel can be pushed away to reach the nursing slits in the bottom layer.
Selection of breastfeeding tops can vary widely depending on where you shop. Internet shops tend to provide a better variety of styles. If you are having trouble finding a specific style in regular stores, it's likely that you'll find it online.
