If you are like many landlords these days you want to learn how to clean floors so good that they will be sparkling from a mile away, right? First and foremost, the first thing on maintaining your floors is to take care of them. As you know, we walk, stomp, drop, and sometimes smear things on the floor with our shoes. This not only dirties up your floors, but it also makes it so much difficult to clean up when we are not constantly sweeping and picking up the mess from the floors.
Make it your aim to sweep your floors every day so that you can permanently have a dirt free floor. The best time to do this would be later on at night when your children are out of the way or when the foot traffic has held up a bit since you want to be able to get everything of the floors. Doing this on a daily basis will make it so much simpler for you to clean up because when you let grime build up over time, then you will have to constantly scrub your floors for the dirt to come off.
Tip Two
Once your floors have been swept on a constant basis, you need not have to do heavy scrubbing when you decide to mop. With a simple home-grown cleaning mix, you can have your floors sparkling like a diamond. You will need to blend a cup of white vinegar with one gallon of hot, steamy water.
Vinegar has been used to clean and clear up your floor clean and sparkly for decades now. Ask any elderly person that you know and they will inform you that decades ago that was what they used because it was something easy to get in their home and was cost effective. The vinegar (acid) will work away at the grime and grodies that your floor may have and in ten minutes time of sopping, your floors will look rejuvenated.
Of course you will now wash the floors with nice, clean water and then dry it. Now that you learned a quick method on how to clean floors, you should be on your way to get that shiny floor you envisaged.
